Style your very own bar cart

Have you always thought of having a stylish bar cart as a centrepiece when entertaining guests or to practise your mixology skills? Look no further! With our expertise in mixing up some of the best cocktails, our team at Clovendoe has your back to ensure that your bar cart is stocked with the necessities while also keeping it chic.

Step 1 – The cart

If you don’t already have a bar cart in your home, go out there and find one that matches your décor or one that expresses your personality! Consider the style and function you are looking for before making your choice.

Step 2 – Base Spirits

Once you have your bar cart, the first step is to keep it simple and stock it with essential base spirits such as gin, vodka, whiskey, tequila and rum. Spirits such as gin are necessary as Gin and Tonics, Martinis, and Negronis are popular drinks you should have ready to make for your guests.

Step 3 – The Mixers

Next, think of the different mixers you will need! A small selection of other staple alcohol for making cocktails, such as Vermouth, Amaretto, Campari and Triple Sec will come in handy. Furthermore, juices are a common ingredient in many cocktails. Every bar cart should be stocked with orange juice, cranberry juice, lime juice, lemon juice and tomato juice. And be sure to always have tonic and soda waters at the ready —we recommend Fever-Tree.

Step 4 – Non-Alcoholic Beverages

Additionally, stock your bar cart with non-alcoholic beverages to ensure that you can mix drinks for everyone at the party! Having non-alcoholic options, such as Clovendoe’s Zero range, is essential for making guilt-free virgin cocktails that taste just as good, if not better!

Step 4 - Garnishes

Don’t forget the garnishes! Garnishes are an excellent way to improve the presentation and flavour of your cocktails. To up your cocktail game, remember to stock your bar cart with oranges, limes, cherries, fresh herbs, and botanicals!

Step 5 – The Equipment

With equipment, a cocktail kit, which includes bottle openers, cutting boards, cocktail shakers, a grater, jiggers, mixing glasses, and stirrings, is a great starting point. A well-stocked home bar cart also includes beer glasses, red wine glasses, white wine glasses, Martini glasses, Collins glasses, and rocks glasses for serving.

Step 5 - Decorate

And finally, why not decorate your bar cart once it’s fully stocked and ready to be the centre of attention at your next party! Add some flowers or books to your cart to make it feel like it belongs in the room, or use your ingredients as a decorative piece. The possibilities are endless when you have fun with your bar cart!
